A property management dashboard for tracking tenants, rent collection, dues, and payment history.
Rent collection across multiple properties meant chasing tenants manually and losing track of who'd paid. I built a dashboard that tracks every tenant, every property, and every payment against due dates — with SMS reminders replacing manual follow-ups.
By digitizing due ledgers, landlords have a consolidated overview. Due notifications are delivered automatically, routing payment alerts to tenants to decrease delays.
The application leverages a database design for mapping properties, tenants, and transactions. A cron-driven scheduling service routes due reminders to external SMS APIs asynchronously.
Organized records tracking room occupancies, property parameters, and utility details.
Profiles logging agreement terms, contact cards, and active lease parameters.
Ledger tracking payments, transaction dates, rent invoices, and check records.
Automated scheduler calculating overdue ledger targets and flagging outstanding payouts.
Twilio API integrations triggering notification cues to tenants upon due checkpoints.
Month-end financial graphs summarizing property yield metrics and utility overheads.
"Handling due-date logic across tenants with different payment cycles and ensuring SMS delivery was the core challenge."
Because tenant agreements detail unique payment bounds (weekly, fortnightly, monthly cycles), calculating overdue balances manually led to errors and outstanding payment delays.
To solve this, I designed a cron-driven scheduler. The service maps active tenant agreements into a payment queue, using retry buffers and delivery callback webhooks to handle API rate limits and verify that SMS alerts reach tenants.
Spunky Spuds automated their property administration, converting manual follow-up sheets into an integrated, transparent, and prompt rental engine.
